Our history
For over 60 years, St Agnes provided quality Catholic education for young people in the Rooty Hill community.
St Agnes Catholic High School was founded in 1962 by the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary. 29 girls were the first students in what was originally called “St Agnes’ College.”
In 1976, St Agnes transitioned to the care of the Sydney Diocese. From 1999 to 2004, the school was incorporated into the multi-campus Christ Catholic College.
In 2004, St Agnes once again operated independently as part of the Diocese of Parramatta. In 2019, St Agnes transitioned to enrol students in Years 11 and 12 and our first HSC cohort graduated in 2020.
Over the years, new buildings have been constructed to accommodate the growing student population. Most recently, we have opened a new Creative Hub building with designated areas for technology, applied sciences, and visual arts.
The original homestead has been carefully preserved and currently houses administration and staff facilities.
Today, St Agnes Catholic High School is a proudly diverse co-educational community of 865 young people from the greater Mount Druitt area.
