shrove tuesday

The smell of pancakes wafted through the corridors of St Agnes on Tuesday 4 March 2014.

Students cooked pancakes as part of Shrove Tuesday which were sold at recess.

Proceeds of this sale will be donated to Caritas Australia. Shrove Tuesday (also known as Pancake Day) is a day of celebration as well as penitence, because it's the last day before Lent

. Pancakes are eaten on this day because they contain fat, butter and eggs, which were forbidden during Lent.
